Inspiration

Flowers do it for me. I can always find inspiration just on my doorstep.

Where do you find inspiration? That is one of the questions I was asked this week. So, I looked around the studio. I looked outside. I thought about my travels. I scrolled through the photos on my phone. I thought about my Pinterest boards. My Instagram feed. My kids. My pets…. You get the picture. (So many pictures!) I realized that there is inspiration everywhere. Everywhere. It’s there all the time. Just waiting for me. The trick is to see it. Be open to it when it shows up, otherwise, it’s just the fuzzy backdrop for your life. Snap a photo, sketch a quickie, take a mental picture, run your fingers over it (be sure to ask permission first!), and take a big whiff. Somehow absorb it into your consciousness so you feel confident you can recall it when you need it. Inspiration is everywhere… everywhere you are paying attention.
